My Ford Fiesta - Transmission Problems

I bought a Ford Fiesta Trend 1.6L AT from the Ford Israeli dealership ‘Delek Motors’ on 2013. Since the day of purchase, the car has been in and out of the Ford repair shop for severe transmission problems.
I experienced strong vibrations and shudders felt throughout the car body. During the vibrations the gear does not shift into position, the engine loses its power and I lose control over the car. This creates very dangerous on road situations, for instance when trying to accelerate to avoid an obstacle, when in the middle of overtaking on the highway, when I decrease speed and accelerate again, or when starting movement from a standstill. Lately I have even had the car shutdown altogether when I drove through a major intersection.

Ford addressed the issue by:

1.    Blaming my driving abilities. Saying I need to adjust to the sophistication of the Ford ‘Power Shift’ transmission.

2.    Performed several software updates tweaking the transmission every time I visited the garage.

3.    Discovered oil leaks from the transmission. At this point, the garage claimed this was causing the gears slippage and replaced components and gear oil. This procedure was performed two times.

4.    When the problem continued, I visited the local Ford garage every few days. Each time a mechanic performed a short test drive in which he would fail to witness the vibration or claim these were minor vibrations. I was required to make a log to document each vibration occurrence by immediately driving to a Ford official garage, connect to their diagnostics computer, this way, they claimed they would be able to document & share the info in order to consult with the Ford headquarters.

5.    Ford main garage required that I deposit the car for a few days and sign a document allowing their transmission specialist to drive the car and record the vibrations in order to verify my complaints. After a few days, I received Fords confirmation for the malfunction. This was followed by a replacement of the clutch module.

6.    Ford extended my warranty period limiting the extension to my ownership, this means in case I was to sell the car, the buyer would not be covered.

7.    When the vibrations continued I went through the whole process again following an additional replacement of the clutch module. Ford representative at this point, noted that a second replacement is very rare. The second replacement just like the first one did not solve the problem. The shaking and shuddering became more frequent and more powerful.

8.    Next time at the garage, Ford performed a procedure the call ‘Release & Fasten’, whatever this means. This procedure was suggested by the Ford transmission specialist.

9.     As the Shuddering continued, a second ‘Release & Fasten’ was performed, in addition to an Engine Mount replacement.  Here I must emphasize the car has 26K kilometers (16K miles) on the dial, replacement of the engine mount after such short operation is a clear indication of the wear and damage the vibrations are causing to the car components.

10.    Ford released the car assuring me this time the car is FIXED. Half an hour later I called them and told them NOTHING has changed. They challenged my call with an official email claiming the car left the garage repaired.

11.    Four days later while driving through a major highway intersection the car vibrated violently, then shut down altogether. The car was towed to the garage.

Where I stand today:

The car is in the Ford main garage I refuse to drive it again. This car is a danger on the road, a safety hazard to its occupants and to others. I do not believe Ford is able to repair the faulty transmission.
